Fédération Française de la Couture (or the body of French government that protects high fashion’s most sacred art) announced that they’ve officially bestowed Valli with the lofty title. Giambattista Valli premiered his debut couture collection in July.

Rumor has it that John Galliano is designing a capsule collection for Zara to be presented in the Spring Summer 2012 in the high street fashion brand's store all over the world.

Sir Paul Smith has brought his designing talents to the philatelic world with a special set of stamps for the Isle of Man and the London 2012 Olympics.

A short film directed by Matthew Frost and co-written by Fabien Prade and Matthew Frost. It features a day in the life of a girl, the top Ashley Smith, a girl like the others, almost. Ashley has a secret that could make all the other girls jealous.

Inspired by French New Wave films and actress Jean Seberg, the collection doesn't hit stores until Feb. 5.

Instead of penning her fifth V column for this month's music issue, "Lady Gaga lets the designers of her most recent collaborations do the talking," according to the magazine. This means that Giorgio Armani, Manish Arora, and Karl Lagerfeld each submitted "notes" about making outfits for Gaga.

This year's crop included some big, fancy, pull-out-all-the-stops showcases, including temporary stores from H&M, ad agency Wieden + Kennedy, and Tommy Hilfiger.
